Most of our Friday was spent on the bus. A welcome late 8am start to board the bus and
drive back to South Africa. Just a
couple of entertaining stops at a rest station.
Interesting??? because we were the curiosities. Being that Swaziland is so rural when there
is any type of shopping area, that isn’t a roadside stand, they carry
everything. This stop had food, sundries,
personal items, bikes, grills, deworming devices, etc. Oh wait
I guess you could call that Walgreens.
Arrived at the
Zulu
Lodge and Traditional Village for a great braai (remember BBQ) Lots of good food that followed the pattern
we have become accustomed to…chicken, beef, sausage, cole slaw, beets, and
lettuce salad. Just as D2 and I
discovered in China, there are just some things that are part of every
meal. What we haven’t decided yet is
whether is if this is something that they would typically serve or if it is an
International version. (Side note-our
hotel has a while bus of Germans and the food is still the same and they don’t
seem to be questioning it either.)
After lunch we moved to the village for some traditional
drink (if you been to Fiji, think Kava Ceremony), dance and learning. Then off to our hotel for a rest, dinner and
early to bed. Last game drive tomorrow
at 5am.

Your tax $$$$$ at work. This is a brand new 3 story building going up that will
be a new American Embassy in Swaziland. Some wonder why a nation of 1 million
people should rate such a structure when other larger countries have nothing. They
question what will really be taking place here.
