Traveling to Knysna.

Spent a good part of the day on the bus traveling from Port Elizabeth to another seaside town, Though we were traveling along the coast, officially from the East Cape Province to West Cape Province, we never saw much of the coast…it weren't no Highway 1.  But when we did sneak a peek it was quite lovely.

Several rivers dump into the ocean along this portion of the coast since just north running all along the coast are some serious mountains.  These rivers have created some serious gorges.

Our first stop out of Port Elizabeth was Phillip Baai (Bay)  This beautiful bay is known for its great waves and surfing.  If fact those of you old enough to remember the 60’s movie The Endless Summer just might feel a little nostalgia.  The film was shot here and tells the story of 2 Cape Town surfers in the Baai.  Other than surfing, the town has little to offer.  BUT…Bob did find a donut shop and we did learn that seaside homes were nice and very affordable at about 60K for a 3 bedroom, 2 bath cottage.

Subsequent stops took us to a few small towns for a quiet lunch and some viewing.

After arriving and settling in to our absolutely gorgeous boutique hotel the O’Kramers took a walk to the marina which was loaded with dozens of cutesy shops and restaurants.  Dinner with the group at the waterfront to watch the sunset…OOPS! Overcast and cloudy.
